The Old Guitarist

Poetry

13 Apr

The first time I saw you
I wept at seeing my reflection
Pure and unsullied
In shades of blue and grey
We were shriveled and old
Dressed in rags with nothing left
But music
You authentic and me a well-done fake

You changed me
And you are now the portrait of
What I was but not who I am
